Checking in with everyone...

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would just share some stories I have been hearing around the office.  It seems like I get all sorts of good stories throughout the week, and it just occured to me to share them.  Many people have really beefed up their coupon clipping, and making sure they have their coupons with them (most important, and a challenge I am still working on myself).

One co-worker commented in saving over $40 on one shopping trip... I think that is great! Another conversation I learned of someone who called a company regarding their services and was rewarded with $20 in coupons! One person told me that they bought a coupon organizer at a Dollar Store for, yes, a dollar. The cashier told her they have been having trouble keeping them in stock! Someone else told me that they bought one those accordian type closable file folders.  Whatever your method, just use it and take it with you!

OK, so I bought my 3-ring binder last week but have been searching through the week for some sort of organizer, preferably collector card holders.  Not at Dollar General, any of the grocery stores, WalMart, Michaels, Hobby Store -- nope! Fantasy Shop in St Charles - BINGO! $0.20 per sheet! Yes!  OK, now I can get better. My coupons disappear in my purse when I need them! Apparently Archivers has some photo sheets for some of the larger coupons too.  Dierdre works at the Chesterfield location.

Don't forget about the box in the North Kitchen -- bring your unneeded coupons and take some that you do.  Do you have a story or idea to share?  Comment here, or send me an email!

Hey, did you catch the last Extreme Couponing?  It was great to see a man doing it.  :-)

First Meeting Site References

Well, today went well as we met to review and discuss sites, swap coupons, and exchange tips/ideas.

TIPS:
  • Amanda shared her coupon book with us.  She will send us the tabs she uses. Cindy also mentioned there are tons on the site http://www.passionforsavings.com/. She uses baseball card holders & business card holders. Cindy also mentioned photo holders (she finds at Archievers).
  • Check each stores coupon policies:
    • Some stores allow you to "stack" coupons (use more than one type coupon on a product),
    • Some allow you to use "cash back" toward other purchases,
    • Some even will pay you the cash back (most won't)
    • Some double coupons (check for limits - Schnuck's doubles up to $0.40, some limit # doubled)
  • Contacting customer service to compliment products you like may result in HIGH VALUE coupons
  • Share with friends (we have a box in the North Conference Room for sharing)
  • Diedre mentioned that Aldi's is great for fruits and meats, and other items for which you may not have a coupon.
Here are the sites referenced (plus some finds):
Also, I can't believe I didn't mention that I am a BzzAgent in which I get to try products and get valuable coupons.  If you are interested in becoming one, please let me know and I will get you signed up as well.

Until next month!
